Does the heat really kill batteries or am I just buying cheap ones? Trying to figure out if brand matters

I've gone through three batteries in five years on the same car and I'm starting to take it personally, like maybe it's not just the Dubai summer but something about my choices that keeps failing me. The first one was whatever the dealer gave me, the second was a budget replacement from a shop in Deira that I chose purely based on price, and the third was supposed to be a "mid range" option that still didn't make it past two summers. Now I'm staring down the barrel of buying yet another one and a colleague who's been here for fifteen years swears the only thing that finally stopped his annual battery replacement cycle was switching to an Amaron Car Battery, which he's been running for three years now without a single issue. I want to believe it's that simple but I'm also wondering if there's something else going on,…

Got my L322 gearbox sorted in Sharjah and I'm honestly still in shock it worked

I was absolutely convinced my 2008 Range Rover Supercharged was destined for the scrapyard after the transmission started slipping so badly on the way back from Al Dhaid that I could barely maintain eighty kilometers an hour without the revs flaring all over the place and my wife giving me that look from the passenger seat that says I told you buying a cheap British car was a terrible idea. The main dealer quote for a replacement unit made me laugh then cry then consider just pushing it into the creek and claiming insurance, but a friend of a friend who runs a garage near Industrial Area 6 told me to give this place a shot that specializes in Range Rover Gearbox Repair Sharjah and I figured at that point I had nothing left to lose except maybe a few hundred dirhams for a diagnostic that might confirm my worst…
