Anyone else here bought a used Ghost and lived to tell the tale financially?
I never thought I'd be in a position to even consider a Rolls Royce but a business partner of mine is selling his 2015 Ghost Series II as he's upgrading to a Cullinan and he offered it to me at a price that's honestly making me reconsider all my life choices because on paper it's a steal compared to what similar ones are listed for on the dealer forecourts. The car has the starlight headliner and the lambswool mats and every time I sat in the back during client meetings I felt like a proper grown up but now that the opportunity is actually in front of me I'm terrified of what the running costs actually look like in this part of the world. He's been upfront that the air suspension was sorted last year under warranty but I'm more concerned about the smaller stuff that can silently bankrupt you like the soft close door actuators failing or the infotainment screen going dim from the heat and requiring a whole new unit from Goodwood that costs more than a new economy car. I found a place online called Pre Purchase Car Inspection that seems to do a really deep dive Rolls-Royce Pre Purchase Inspection Dubai and they apparently check the brake disc thickness and the condition of the hydraulic lines for the self levelling suspension which I hadn't even thought about until I started googling late last night. I guess I'm just looking for a bit of reassurance from anyone who has actually owned a modern Roller out here without a full time chauffeur and a bottomless maintenance budget because I really don't want to turn a friendly deal with a partner into an awkward situation if the car turns out to be a silent money incinerator.
