Fall 2006
I wish I didn't have write an article for the fall Gazette because it means that the summer season is coming to an end, but the passing of time is one thing that no one can control.
As for the summer, I believe that we had a very pleasant one. Whenever we had family or friends over for the day the weather always cooperated.
This spring the firm Kieser & Associates, presented their Lake Study report to the board. The report could be separated into two areas: things the association could do, and things that the property owners could do. There is an article titled Lake Study Review, which covers things that members can do to help maintain and improve the quality of our lake.
If you would like to view the complete study, it is posted on Kieser's website as an Adobe PDF. The URL is www.kieser-associates.com/Lake_Somerset.pdf.
I have one other item I would like to mention and that is the Revised Covenants. Last year we asked the members to come to the township hall to approve the revised covenants. We had hoped that doing so on two weekends that we would get enough signatures to approve the revisions. That did not happen. We are now in what I call phase two, where we intend to call all of the local residents and see if they would like to add their names to the list. We also plan on sending letters to those who do not have homes in the association and ask for their support on this much needed revision. If you have a question regarding the covenants, please call me at 688-9767.
I will close by saying that the GAZETTE is one of the best tools the association has to communicate with all association members, especially those who aren't in the area and those who cannot attend our monthly meetings. We can keep you informed on what we have done, what we are doing and what we plan for the future. It is to your benefit to read it from cover to cover.
Respectfully,
Tony Harsch
