Lake Somerset Board of Directors

President: Jim Weber

Term: 2010-2013

I am married with two children, served as a member of the board in the past and look forward to joining the board again. I am a CPA and managing partner in the firm of Weber-O'Brien, LLC and have served as a member of the board of a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations in northwest Ohio. I look forward to the development of a formal strategic plan for the lake to the benefit of all members.

Vice President: Tom Stegeman

Term: 2011-2014

My wife, Lucky, and I have owned our home on Lake Somerset since 2000, but have been coming to Lake Somerset for over 25 years. We have two children that have now both left the roost and are off to college. I have good representation on the lake with a brother, cousin, and in-laws all having homes here as well.

I am an owner of several restaurants in the Detroit and Toledo areas (Pizzapapalis and Rio Wraps) and look forward to serving on the board now that we are empty nesters. Prior to getting into business for myself, I was Vice President of the Asia Pacific Rim region for Yorkshire Global which was the parent company for A & W and Long John Silver's restaurants.

I look forward to working with all the board members and residents of this great lake in the years to come to continue to have our lake quality improve as well as to complete all the initiatives both the prior and existing board have started.

Treasurer: Chris Scollard

Term: 2011-2014

I have lived on Lake Somerset since 2005 where I enjoy boating, gardening, golfing, community fitness activities, entertaining, and my cats.

I grew up in Ann Arbor, graduated from Pioneer High, from MSU with a BS, and from CMU with a Masters in Personnel Management. I worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years in many Human Resource management positions. I am now retired and enjoy contributing my Ford learned skills to help keep our lake community the special place that it is.

I have previously served on our Board in 8/06 thru 8/09 as Building Control Chair and as Treasurer. Thank you for your ongoing kind support.

Secretary: Karen MacPherson

Term: 2009-2012

I am a new member of the Somerset community (since mid 2009), but am not new to boating. I love the water and have been a sailor for over 20 years. In Cleveland Ohio I owned a 27 ft. Erickson and was a member of Forest City Yacht Club. As an active member, I chaired several committees as well as held board positions in the Auxillary. This lake is now my permanent residence and I would like to take an active role in its continued viability.

Security: Mitch Wetzler

Term: 2009-2012

My name is Mitch Wetzler and I've owned a house at 14251 Killybegs since 1999. I retired from Ford Motor Company in 2005 where I ran the Mustang, T-Bird, Windstar, and Lincoln Powertrain Programs. I'm an Electrical Engineer but also have Graduate degrees in Electrical, Computer Controls and an MBA in Finance.

Since retirement I spend the summers here on the lake. I live next door to Ms. Thelma Whitten and we have become good neighbors and friends and would continue the seamless process that has been developed by Carl Reuter and Thelma to maintain the security on our lake and to ensure that only those residents that belong to the association have access to our waters.

Parks: Jim Wajda

Term: 2010-2013

I have owned a home on Lake Somerset since 2006. Initially it was just a vacation home but now it is my full time residence with my wife Kris and two children, Mark and Lexi.

I am currently a senior vice president at Prospect Airport Services. I am based at Detroit Metro Airport but travel throughout the United States. Originally from Chicago, I relocated to Michigan 20 years ago. I have an MBA from Loyola Business School and an BA from Lake Forest College.

The lake is our biggest asset in this community and one that needs to be improved and protected as we progress through the next several years. I will be commited to that endevour!

Roads: Tony Harsch

Term: 2011-2014

My wife Helen and I moved to Lake Somerset in 1994. I was unable to assist in LSPOA activities until I retired in 1998. Since then I have served on the board in several areas; two years as Building Control Chairman, five years as Association President and now I am back on the board as Chairman of the Roads Committee.

Our roads are in need of serious repair, the County and the Township are both strapped for funds so I have proposed to the Board and the Township a joint effort to address this issue. I believe that a joint effort is the only way we will resolve this problem with the state of the economy as it is.

I will be relying on the members for needed immediate repairs as they occur on streets in your neighborhood.

Our goal as a Board is to have a Lake Community that we all can take a great deal of pride in.

Building Control: Carl Reuter

Term: 2009-2012

My wife Ellen and I have been full time residents of the lake since 2005. We purchased our lot in 1999 and built our home in 2004-2005. I retired from General Motors in 2010 after 30 years of service. I now enjoy going to auctions and dealing in antiques. Ellen and I have three grown children and three grandchildren. Our son, his wife, and two of our grandchlildren are also residents of the lake.

I have served on the board in the past as Security Chairman and for the past three summers have been a harvester operator trying to help keep our lake a place we all can be proud of calling home. I have been asked by the board to fill the position of Building Committee Chairman after the recent death of Gary Grandy. He will be greatly missed by all and remembered for his outstanding service to the board and LSPOA community.
