Lake Somerset Board of Directors

President: Wesley Rhoads

My name is Wesley Rhoads. I want to serve on the board to help our community continue to thrive. I have grown up and lived at Lake Somerset for 30 years. My wife, son and I just built a new house in September 2004. I have a computer and network consulting business (U.S Technology Solutions LLC) and also work at Foote Health System in the Information Systems Department. I like to provide leadership any way I can. I feel that I can help the property owners keep Lake Somerset a beautiful community envied by other associations and visitors.

Vice President: Debra Gossett

I have lived here at Lake Somerset for three and a half years with my husband Mike, 2 children, and mother. I am a Business Manager and Certified Mastectomy fitter at Northwest Orthotics-Prosthetics in Novi, Michigan. I came on the L.S.P.O.A. Board to help my community and to meet new people.

Treasurer: Chris Scollard

I moved to Lake Somerset in May of 2005 and began attending the membership meetings that summer to learn about our lake community. When Colleen McNeal resigned as the Building Control Chair in July, 2006, I volunteered to replace her to become more involved, and because I used to co-manage a building & rental business. Our Committee developed a Building Permit procedure and application, now available to you on the LSPOA web site. I learned a great deal while reviewing LSPOA building permits with our Building Committee and the Township Building Supervisor. I was recently sworn in on the Somerset Township Planning Commission to further utilize this experience.

I volunteered for the LSPOA Treasurer position to replace Marion in October, 2007 because I am very confident in the Building Committee to carry on with the building matters as I now focus on a new and exciting challenge to further automate our accounting method in QuickBooks at the LSPOA Office.

I also just retired from a very rewarding career with Ford Motor Company, Human Resources Staff. I guess they missed me, because they called me back on a part time consultant basis. Life is good :)

I look forward to getting to know many more of you in my new capacity. And I thank you all for your cooperation and support as we continue to improve the quality of our Association community!!!

Water Quality: Larry Wright

We bought our home on Lake Somerset in 2003 as a place we could eventually retire to. After a year and a half, we found ourselves here more than at our other residence. Leaving here on Sundays after a great weekend was getting very difficult, so we made the decision to move here as permanent residents. (The old joke was, "How did you get your kids to move out? We didn't. We moved out on them.") Carol and I have two grown daughters, and I am currently busy helping my oldest and her husband build their new home.

I am enjoying working with Water Quality -- this is my second term, after having been re-elected last October (so I must be doing a pretty good job!). I look forward to working with the Board and the community to keep Lake Somerset a great place to live!

Secretary: Larry McNeal

My wife Colleen and I moved to Lake Somerset in 1995. I retired in 2007 after a 25-year career in TV and Radio news and 12 years as a graphic designer at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Laboratory in Ann Arbor.

Colleen and I lived in Sault Ste. Marie for 30 years where she was an elementary teacher and principal and where we raised our three boys, Larry, Mike and Ryan.

Colleen served on the LSPOA Board for three years and I have worked for the association in a number of volunteer capacities.

We consider Lake Somerset our "little slice of heaven" full of wonderful, friendly people and we want to do all we can to help maintain the lake and its environs in the best condition possible.

Parks: Rick Meyer

I, my wife, Nikki and our two children, Cassie and Luke, have been residents of Lake Somerset for about four years. In the short time we have lived on the lake, we have met many wonderful people with whom we have become great friends. The community that we are part of is very special and we all should be very thankful. I am the current Operations Manager at Metaldyne in Litchfield, Michigan with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Toledo. I am looking forward to the continual upgrade and enhancement of our great parks!
